Commentary: This is the formal sadhana used for the outer practice of Vajrayogini in the Karma Kamtshang tradition. This practice was transmitted by Tilopa to Naropa. It is the first of a series of sadhana invoking the deity to acquire the basic knowledge and realisation needed that open to the core of the Kyed-Rim and Dzog-Rim practices of the Anuttara tantra.
Having received the needed transmissions from a qualified Guru, one engages a recitation of 400.000 mantras as a preparation for the subsequent inner and secret practices.
